Arts Recession

In tough times the easiest decision to make is to cut out discretionary spending on the arts - whether it is attending live performances of theatre or music or those too rare purchases of works that have struck a chord somewhere.

Yet it is the arts that helps us transcend the mundane bleakness of our economic woes. The relative cost/value of the arts is not measurable on the vulgar scales that weigh our monetary values.

In these times of penury, art is the best investment for the soul.
